  1. Installation Procedures for BIBLE PLUS

  4. There is a file BIBLEP10.EXE and README.TXT (this one) on the diskette.
  5.  
  6. 1. Make a temporary subdirectory on your hard disk. For example:
  7.  
  8.       C>md \temp
  9.  
  10. 2. Copy the BIBLEP10.EXE file into the subdirectory.
  11.  
  12. 3. Run the BIBLEP10.EXE program from DOS or a Windows DOS box. This
  13.    action extracts the installation files from the self-extracting
  14.    executable file.
  15.  
  16. 4. Start Windows.
  17.  
  18. 5. From the Program Manager, choose the Run command on the File menu.
  19.  
  20. 6. In the Run dialog box's Command Line field, type the subdirectory
  21.    and the SETUP program name like this:
  22.  
  23.       c:\temp\setup
  24.  
  25. 7. The setup program assumes that you will install the program into the 
  26.    C:\BIBLE subdirectory. Change this value if you need to, and continue.
  27.  
  28. 8. When SETUP is finished, you may delete the files from and remove the
  29.    temporary subdirectory.
  30.  
  31. 9. SETUP has added a Bible Program Manager group with an icon 
  32.    to run Bible Plus.

  36. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

  38.    Windows 3.1 
  39.    4 Megabytes of RAM
  40.    2 Megabytes of Hard Disk space (4 Megabytes for the Registered version)

  42. SYSTEM SUGGESTIONS:
  43.  
  44.    Access to a good word processor such as Word for Windows, Ami Pro or
  45.    WordPerfect for Windows to print and format your essays.
  46.  
  47. NOTES:
  48.  
  49.    This program can be used as an excellent research tool.  It has lightning
  50.    fast boolean logic searches and a very user friendly interface.
  51.    For example, if you are doing a study on baptism, you can search for
  52.    the term BAPTI* as a QUERY.  All verses starting with BAPTI will be
  53.    matched such as baptism, baptist, baptistry.  A display showing all
  54.    matching verses will be displayed allowing you to quickly determine 
  55.    which verse you need.  Press a button to stuff the Bible verses into an 
  56.    essay (or study) and the text and references will be included.
  57.  
  58.    After building and saving your essay, you may wish to use the text
  59.    stored in the essay file and place it into your word processor where
  60.    you can format, spell check and print the essay.  Bible Plus is not
  61.    intended to replace or provide word processing functions such as
  62.    spell checking or even the ability to print the essays.  The system 
  63.    will build text files containing your notes and Bible verses, any 
  64.    additional functions should be provided by your word processor.

  66.    Additionally, you may want to build a set of STUDY notes that are 
  67.    attached to various verses.  Simply click on the paperclip.  A short
  68.    box with references to other verses or personal thoughts will appear.
  69.    The file BIBLE.NOT will contain your notes.  It is very important that
  70.    you make backups of this file since all of your annotations will be
  71.    stored there.

  73.    The program is very simple and elegant.  Use the on-line help liberally
  74.    and wander through the scriptures.
  75.  
  76.    At this point we only have the King James Version available.  If 
  77.    there is enough demand, we will put out other translations.
  78.  
  79.    As far as we know, the text supplied is an accurate rendition of the 
  80.    King James Bible in 1611.  We do not guarantee the complete accuracy
  81.    of the text.
